Canes Sign Jamieson Rees to Entry-Level Deal
Carolina Hurricanes President and General Manager, Don Waddell, announced today that the team has signed Jamieson Rees to a three-year, entry-level NHL contract.
The Carolina Hurricanes selected Jamieson in the second round (44th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft. In 39 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games, with the 2019-20 Sarnia Sting, Rees compiled 18 goals and 43 assists.
“Jamieson is a skilled center with strong playmaking ability,” said Don Waddell. “He made major strides in his development last season, and we’re looking forward to his next steps.”
At the NHL level, the deal will pay Jamieson Rees
- $700,000 in 2020-21
- $750,000 in 2021-22
- $832,500 in 2022-23
The deal will pay Rees $70,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level for all three seasons, and he will receive a signing bonus of $277,500.
